Pet Nutrition Tracker ("we", "our", or "the app") is built with privacy as a core value. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We only collect the information necessary to provide the app's features:
- Pet information you enter: Pet name, species, breed, age, weight, activity level, health conditions, and photos you upload.
- Meal and activity data: Meals you log, photos of food, activity entries, medications, and feeding schedules.
- Account information: If you sign in, your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple) or email address.
- Usage analytics: Anonymous app usage information to help us improve the app.
Where your data lives
Your pet's data is stored privately in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We do not have access to this data. It syncs between your Apple devices and can be shared with family members you explicitly invite.
AI features & photos
When you use AI features (meal photo analysis, nutrition advice), the relevant data is sent to our AI providers (Groq and Google Gemini) to generate a response. These providers do not retain the data for training purposes. Photos are processed to estimate nutrition and are not stored by our providers after processing.
How we use information
- To provide and improve the app's features
- To generate personalized nutrition insights and recommendations
- To send you feeding reminders and notifications you enable
- To understand how the app is used (in aggregate, anonymously)
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't share your data with advertisers.
- We don't access your pet's data stored in iCloud.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Your choices
You can:
- Delete your pets and all associated data from within the app at any time
- Disable notifications in your device Settings
- Disable iCloud sync by signing out of iCloud
- Request deletion of your account by emailing us
Children's privacy
Pet Nutrition Tracker is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
