Privacy Policy

Pet AI: Nutrition Tracker is built with privacy as a core value. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect the information necessary to provide the app's features:

• Pet information you enter: Pet name, species, breed, age, weight, activity level, health conditions, and photos you upload.
• Meal and activity data: Meals you log, photos of food, activity entries, medications, and feeding schedules.
• Account information: If you sign in, your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple) or email address.
• Usage analytics: Anonymous app usage information to help us improve the app.
• Advertising attribution data: Device identifiers (such as IDFV), app events (such as installs and purchases), and diagnostic data used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. See "Analytics and advertising attribution" below for details.

Where your data lives

Your pet's data is stored privately in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We do not have access to this data. It syncs between your Apple devices and can be shared with family members you explicitly invite.

AI features & photos

When you use AI features (meal photo analysis, nutrition advice), the relevant data is sent to our AI providers (Groq and Google Gemini) to generate a response. These providers do not retain the data for training purposes. Photos are processed to estimate nutrition and are not stored by our providers after processing.

Analytics and advertising attribution

We use the following third-party services to understand how users discover the app and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns:

• AppsFlyer: We use AppsFlyer for install attribution and referral tracking. AppsFlyer may collect device identifiers (such as IDFV), IP address, and app event data (such as app opens and in-app purchases) to determine which campaigns led to installs. See AppsFlyer's Privacy Policy.
• Meta (Facebook) SDK: We use the Meta SDK for advertising attribution and analytics. The SDK may collect device identifiers, app event data (such as installs, opens, and purchases), and diagnostic information. This data is processed by Meta according to Meta's Privacy Policy.

If you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, these services may also access your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for cross-app attribution. You can decline this permission with no impact on app functionality.

Referral program

If you participate in the referral program by sharing an invite link, your app-scoped user identifier is embedded in the link so we can credit you when a referred user subscribes. Referral records (containing only anonymous user identifiers and reward status) are stored in a CloudKit public database. No personal information such as names or email addresses is included in referral records.

In-app purchases

All purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. We receive only transaction confirmation data (such as whether a subscription is active) to unlock premium features.

How we use information

• To provide and improve the app's features
• To generate personalized nutrition insights and recommendations
• To send you feeding reminders and notifications you enable
• To understand how the app is used (in aggregate, anonymously)

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data. Ever.
• We don't share your pet's data, meal logs, or health information with advertisers.
• We don't access your pet's data stored in iCloud.
• We don't display ads within the app.
• We don't track you across other apps or websites unless you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Your choices

You can:

• Decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt to prevent IDFA-based cross-app tracking
• Delete your pets and all associated data from within the app at any time
• Disable notifications in your device Settings
• Disable iCloud sync by signing out of iCloud
• Revoke Sign in with Apple credentials from your Apple ID settings
• Request deletion of your account by emailing us

Children's privacy

Pet AI: Nutrition Tracker is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
