Built for the pets we can't live without
Pet AI started from a simple frustration: every pet health app felt like a human fitness app with the word "dog" pasted in. We built something better.
60% of pets in the U.S. are overweight or obese.
That statistic is staggering—and preventable. Most pet owners genuinely want to do right by their animals, but the tools available to them are woefully inadequate. Bag guidelines are generic averages. Human-ported calorie apps don't understand breed-specific needs. And nothing ties together food, activity, medication, and vet history in one place.
We built Pet AI to fill that gap: a full-health platform purpose-built for pets, not a calorie counter with a paw print slapped on it.
Privacy first. Purpose built. Actually useful.
We made a deliberate choice to store all pet data in users' own iCloud accounts rather than on our servers. That means we have zero access to your pet's health data—not a policy promise, but an architectural guarantee. Your data belongs to you.
We also made a choice to build for the full arc of pet ownership: the daily feeding log, the weekly weight check-in, the monthly vet appointment, and the years of chronic condition management for senior pets. Every feature earns its place.
Features other apps don't have
We looked at every pet app on the market. Here's what we built that they didn't.
Real macro tracking
Protein, carbs, and fat—not just calories. Essential for pets managing weight loss, diabetes, or kidney disease.
Barcode scanner
Scan the bag and macros populate automatically. No more manual data entry every time you switch foods.
Built-in AI assistant
Ask any nutrition question about your specific pet. Tailored answers, not generic Google results.
Medication tracking
This is a vet-care feature, not a calorie-app feature. Indispensable for senior pets and chronic conditions.
True family sharing
Both spouses see the same feeding log in real time via iCloud. No more double-feeding the dog.
Meal templates
Save your pet's regular meal once and log it in two taps forever after. Human fitness apps have had this for years—now pets do too.
Streaks & celebrations
Gamification keeps owners actually opening the app daily. Standard in human fitness. Novel in pet apps.
Privacy-first architecture
Your data lives in your own iCloud account. We can't see it. That's a technical guarantee, not a marketing promise.
Your pet's data belongs to you
We built Pet AI on Apple's CloudKit, which means your pet's health data is stored in your personal iCloud account—encrypted, private, and completely outside our reach. We don't have a database of your pets. We can't sell data we can't see.
When you use AI features like photo meal analysis, the relevant data is sent to our AI providers to generate a response and is not retained for training. That's it.
